Sherri Shepherd’s ex has blasted her as vindictive and bitter after she shaded him and their marriage during a recent interview.
As previously reported, Shepherd visited D.L. Hughley’s radio show last week and discussed why she ignored the advice from friends who warned her not to marry Lamar Sally.
“The first time I saw him, I swear to God, I said, ‘That’s a sorry-ass dude,’” Hughley admitted to her on air. Shepherd agreed, saying, “Everybody said that. Steve Harvey said it, Barbara Walters said it, Whoopi [Goldberg] wouldn’t come to my wedding. Everybody tried to tell me. The only person who showed up was Kym Whitley, because she got a free iPad and she was my bridesmaid — we gave away free iPads.”
Sherri was married to Sally from 2011 to 2015. After they crashed and burned, the former couple fought over custody of the child they were expecting via surrogate. The baby boy was born in August 2014, after Sherri and Lamar already split. The following year, a judge ruled that Shepherd had to pay Sally child support.
Now he’s clapping back at the comments she made about him on Hughley’s radio show. Lamar tells TMZ … “I will not have you lie that the only reason you married me and brought our son into the world was because you were lonely or horny. We had a good marriage and our son was conceived out of love from both parents.”
Shepard claims Lamar defrauded her into getting a surrogate to carry a baby, just so he could get child support. She ended up shelling out $4,100 per month and she’s reportedly not actively involved in 5-year-old Lamar Jr.’s life.
Lamar says Sherri’s lies about his character sabotaged his career. In a letter to his ex (which you can read above) he advises her to: “Go back to therapy and work on the real issues that is plaguing you and leave us alone … and stop beings so bitter. I’m praying for you.
