CNN anchor Chris Cuomo got into a confrontation with another man in a video that has now gone global, with that gentleman calling the journalist the name of a character from ‘The Godfather.’
The video of the two is seen here in this tweet below.
The Root highlights what set off Cuomo the most during the confrontation:
“Fredo is from ‘The Godfather.’ He was a weak brother and they use it as an Italian aspersion,” the Hill reports Cuomo saying.
Yup, he was called a character from the ‘Godfather’ movies. Fans of the movie recall that ‘Fredo’ was the weakest of the Corleone sons.
Cuomo added that ‘Fredo’ is the Italian version of the N-word, which Donald Trump, Jr. tweeted that it is not. (Many others feel also that ‘Fredo’ is not like the N-word)
Back to the confrontation, Cuomo later tore into the other gentleman through f-bombs and threats while spectators gathered to watch, and even record some of the verbal altercation.
It was only a matter of time before U.S. President Donald Trump got involved through his Twitter page. Here is what he tweeted:
Trump, not suprisingly, sided with the man who confronted Cuomo. However, conservative radio and Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity sided with the CNN host.
Cuomo later issued a tweet saying that he should be “better” then those who engage with him in conflict.

.@TheRevAl has spent his life fighting for what's right and working to improve our nation, even in the face of hate. It's shameful, yet unsurprising that Trump would continue to attack those who have done so much for our country.— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) July 29, 2019

A few months ago, Rev. Al Sharpton told me he sees Donald Trump’s sons at his favorite cigar spot and always tells them this:— Terrell Jermaine Starr (@Russian_Starr) July 29, 2019
“I speak to them and all that,” he said. “I have no problem being cordial, but ‘Your daddy is a racist.’”https://t.co/rH6qr3y49P pic.twitter.com/NodfL5x3Np

Going after Al Sharpton and claiming he's a "conman" who "hates whites." Are we going to have another stupid round of "is this racism?"— Zack Ford (@ZackFord) July 29, 2019

Someone shot up a garlic festival and murdered a six-year-old, but Donald Trump’s first action this morning was to attack Al Sharpton.— Frederick Joseph (@FredTJoseph) July 29, 2019

So after relentlessly attacking Congressman Elijah Cummings and the people of Baltimore, Trump starts attacking Al Sharpton and accuses him of being a “con man” who “hates whites and cops.” He’s also attacked Maxine Waters, Ilhan Omar, and black NFL players.— Eugene Gu, MD (@eugenegu) July 29, 2019
Trump is a racist.

Today is Monday. That means @realDonaldTrump is bullying another minority. Now he's attacking Al Sharpton.— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) July 29, 2019
But this tweet went even further. @POTUS is explicitly dividing Americans based on race by making ridiculous statements like Al "hates Whites".#MondayMorning Thoughts https://t.co/3aBfaRukop

As a white American, DT brings on a sense of shame for being of the same race as the evil shit sack spouting hatred and nonsense from the oval office. Trump will never be one tenth the man that Elijah Cummings is, that Al Sharpton is, that our 4 Congresswomen of color are. https://t.co/JLcKI7MQZf— FreeBird (@Juanita16861109) July 29, 2019

Trump called Al Sharpton a con man.— Ahmed Baba (@AhmedBaba_) July 29, 2019
As a businessman, Trump fabricated his self-made persona and lied about his wealth.
As a candidate, Trump ran on immigration after hiring undocumented workers.
As POTUS, Trump lies compulsively.
Trump is the biggest con man in US history.
