Mariah Carey Performs On NBC's 'Today'

Mariah Carey’s iconic Merry Christmas album has inspired Hollywood to make it into a film. Deadlineexclusively reports that New Line has bought an untitled pitch from Mariah Carey and RatPac Entertainment writers David Diamond and David Weissman along with producer Jon Shestack. The film was created when Carey shared her idea for a Christmas movie to her friend and RatPac’s Brett Ratner.

Currently the synopsis of the film has not be revealed but it is said the centering theme will be about the power of music can reveal your “truest and most authentic feelings.” The movie will feature Christmas music from Carey and other artists and will be produced by Shestack and Ratner, along with  RatPac Entertainment serving as the executive producer for  the film. This news comes after Carey announcing her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace. It will begin May 6th and close at the end of July. The last time Carey was seen on the big screen was in the 2013 hit Lee Daniels movie The Butler  and  we’re excited to see her again on the silver screen.
