According to Fox 28, Marion police said they do not believe the beating of a man has anything to do with his arrest last week in a drug round-up, as police try to find the source of the heroin that has led to more than 30 overdoses.

Billy Davis, 48, was found beaten and burned on E. Farming Street in Marion Wednesday evening. His mother said he remains in the intensive care unit at Marion General Hospital.

“They beat on him for two or three days,” said Wanda Miller. She said his face is horribly swollen and his kidneys and liver are damaged. After his arrest, he ended up at the Farming Street home where a neighbor said people hang out and get drunk and high
