*Author and activist Dr. Cornel West updated his Facebook status Monday with a lengthy essay about his support of left-leaning Independent Bernie Sanders for president, and his rejection of Donald Trump as a GOP candidate.
West said Sanders, who describes himself as a “democratic socialist,” is in the line of “prophetic politicians…who tell the truth about Wall Street, white supremacy, empire, patriarchy and homophobia.”
He said Trump is also “for real but not for right.”
“Trump’s attacks on precious Mexican brothers and sisters are unconscionable – even as his blessed mother was born in Scotland and grandfather (Mr. Drumpf) was born in Germany,” West added.
