The Powerball is now $8M! So, you know our office got in on the fun. That’s the kind of money that makes you feel like you can own the city. lol According to Fox 28, lots of people are buying Powerball tickets either for themselves or office pools. One group picked a guy with a lucky reputation to get theirs.

Nick Potts is a tech account manager at CoverMyMeds in Columbus.

In the two years he’s worked for the company, his luck has paid out time and time again. “I won a Vegas trip at work. Then on a work trip I won a Superfecta at a horse track. I got to go to Price Is Right about a year ago on a company sponsored trip and I got called down and got called up on the stage and ended up winning the entire show,” said Potts.

Potts says it was his moment in the spotlight on The Price Is Right that sealed his fate as the man to buy the office Powerball tickets.

A lottery pool that started with 10 people soared to 79 at $20 a piece. “It ended up being $1580 so we were able to buy 790 tickets,” said Potts.

Potts estimates each person would get about $4 million after taxes. “We put together a contract, there’s an excel file that lists everyone that paid, um we had it notarized,” said Potts.

His Powerball dreams are mostly selfless.

“Make it to where my parents didn’t have to work ever again and outside of that make someone else’s life better,” said Potts.

Potts says he’d also return to work and isn’t the only one that has expressed that in the office pool.

“Overwhelming majority will stay,” said Potts.

He’s keeping the tickets in a safe place. They’re all quick picks, and all of his coworkers in the office pool have copies.
