Remember the woman that went viral for downing 48 oysters by herself? Well, here’s your chance to take on the same challenge with no judgement.
Hank’s Low Country Seafood and Raw Bar will host its inaugural “Hank’s Low Country Oyster Fest” Sunday, September 15th. This new seafood celebration will take place under the “Current” sculpture at the intersections of Gay and High Street.
The festival will run from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature oyster shucking, roasting, and other various seafood dishes. Oyster fans can also catch some live jazz, entertainment, and drinks, including wine, beer, and signature cocktails from the restaurant.

According to NBC4, Hank’s Seafood, based out of South Carolina, opened its Columbus doors this past spring. Hank’s menu includes Southern-style dishes like Seafood à la Wando, Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail, Bouillabaisse and more. Hank’s is known for its “caught-that-day” entrees, which helped it earn “Best Seafood Restaurant” honors from a Charleston newspaper for 18 years.
The Oyster Fest marks the eatery’s first major event, tying into the restaurant’s 25th anniversary celebrations!
While the event is free, food and drinks will be available for purchase. RSVP’s not required but early arrival is suggested because… who can resist an Oyster Festival?
